First sculpture in progress!!
This is my first sculpture, it is a project for my sculpting class. The project its self is a self portrait, and anyone who knows my associates my with horses in some form or another so here is my guy. His inspiration and refences are off of three models Sarah Roses Lonestar, Shelia bishops Sundance kid, and Breyer Smart Chic Olena. And upon staring at the two resins for a very long time I determined I am going to cloths line myself with how high I've set the bar. But the bar shall remain.

R.I.P Sasha

I had to put my dog Sasha down this morning. She was ten years old and my first dog. We don't know what happened to her, but suddenly she couldn't use her back legs. She had no feeling in them, but the rest of her was in pain. I came home from school, and immediatly told my mom that we where going to have to put her down. We gave her a couple of days, to see if she would come out of it (I knew she wasn't going to, but my mom was haveing a really hard time with it).
In the end my step-dad called and made the appointment and I took her in, it was the hardest thing for me to do, but it was only fair to her. I wish I had been strong enough to stay with her while they did it, but I didn't trust myself, and I couldn't watch her die.

Sasha was my first dog, I had her since she was eight weeks old. I never wanted a Fru-fru dog, and never owned one, she was my German Shepherd in cocker clothes. Stubborn, but one of the smartest dogs in the world. I really really miss her.

Videos
These are the most recent videos of my two boys that I have. The ones of Trace have a minute of staring at the empty areana cause I had to set up the camera then get back to Trace. Dont laugh at my sad attempts to mount from the ground bareback.
The video of Chance is a couple of months after his stifle injury, he is walking pretty good.

First Post
Don't know what made me decide to get a blog, but now that have one I will be using it to post photos of my old guys and models that I'm painting. I might also post pictures of my drawings and paintings that i am doing. Plus random events
My names Elizabeth, I'm 21 years old and currently attending school at Washington State University. I have two American Paint Horses, Chance is somewhere around 35 years old (he is the top and bottom photos) and Bug Bars aka: Trace is 24.
My names Elizabeth, I'm 21 years old and currently attending school at Washington State University. I have two American Paint Horses, Chance is somewhere around 35 years old (he is the top and bottom photos) and Bug Bars aka: Trace is 24.Chance is a rescue, I don't know anything about him other than what I've learned in the past six years that I've had him. And in the six years I have owned him he's gone for 23 to 35. We showed 4-H together, his favorite event was areana trail. He officially retired last year when i got Trace. Chance has some health issues, he's blind in his right eye and this summer he either agrivated an old injury or gave himself a new one. Anyways his stifle swelled and I found him down in the pasture the day the vet was coming out to give him and Trace their shots. That was only a few months ago, the same day the vet told me he thought Trace had bowed a tendon, and I wouldn't be able to ride at least two months. So I was told my riding horse wasn't ride able and I might have to put Chance down. Bad couple of months I had, a few days after I was told this I had a car accident the day the vet re-checked Chance and told me he thought he would be fine, never 100% but comfortable and happy.
Trace has taken longer to heal, and I have to take it easy when we ride. He really needs to be conditioned, but since I'm now at school and he is home, thats not gonna happen. Trace was given to me by my farrier, after I spent a few months searching for a new horse. I wanted young, colored, and peppy. I got old, colored, and very peppy. Trace is basically half thoroughbred half paint, he's paint in his recent pedigree, quarter horse and thoroughbred a few generations back. He even traces back to Man O' War.
Other info I'm horse crazy, I paint, draw, and photograph horses. I'm also an avid Breyer model horse collector and resins. My favorite sculptors are Sarah Rose, Stacey Tumlinson, Maggie Bennet and several others. I have a few resisns mostly rose's, of my painted horses are a Traditional Independence (I don't know who painted him), Lonestar painted by Shelia Bishop (Anderson) as a portrait of Chance, and Working girl painted by Sommer Prossor. I have two Tumlinson horses that I'm painting myself, a traditional Ziryab as a bay tobiano with ink spots and a mini scarlett as a bay toby.
